Oops! Wrong number!
Thank goodness I was on the phone so no-one could see me blushing!
This morning, I had to call the electricity company to organise a payment plan to pay off our account. So I called the number (just like I have done so many times before that I know the number by heart now). I was automatically put on hold and didn’t even ‘click’ that they had a different recorded message.
Once I got put through to a consultant, I began telling her that I wanted a payment extension and it wasn’t until she asked whether it was just for the home phone or broadband as well that I finally clicked on that I had called the phone company instead of the electricity company.
This was after being on hold for about 10 minutes!
I felt like such an idiot! I apologised while the young girl had a bit of a chuckle and I quickly hung up. Dialling the correct number, when a consultant answered, I asked “This IS integral, isn’t it?” before I started rambling on…LOL
